TRIBUTE TO CAPTAIN NGUYEN MANH CUONG – A 15-YEAR JOURNEY OF DEDICATION TO VIET GAS 01

During his nearly 15 years with the Viet Gas 01 vessel, Captain Nguyen Manh Cuong has completed a total of 1,563 cargo voyages, ensuring the safe operation and management of the ship on key river and port routes in the Southeast and Mekong Delta regions.

Given the unique characteristics of the route, which has a high density of vehicles stretching from Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City to Long An and Can Tho, he always ensures stable, safe, and efficient operation, especially during peak periods with high transport frequency. 2015 recorded the highest output with 190 shipments.

Within the tanker barge fleet, Captain Nguyen Manh Cuong is recognized not only for his experience and steady operational skills, but also for his calm, disciplined, and consistent leadership style. He has built a work environment based on clear discipline while maintaining harmony in interactions. This balance between operational rigor and human understanding has contributed to safety and fostered cohesion among the crew.

Not only did he excel in his role as a Captain, but with a sense of responsibility, enthusiasm, and love for his profession, he also directly trained and guided many crew members to become successful, gradually taking on important positions on the ship.

He was the "richest"—not in material possessions, but in the respect, trust, and affection that the crew, office staff, charterers, warehouses, and inspectors bestowed upon him with each mission. His greatest legacy lies not only in the 1,563 safe voyages, but also in the people he inspired—those who continue to uphold discipline, kindness, and pride in their profession.

He will retire after a long and dedicated career, but the values he has left behind will continue to guide the lives and professions of the next generation of seafarers.

The crew of Viet Gas 01, the ship owner PHUONG DONG, the ship managers NVTRANS & KPI SEAMAN, and all ship owners throughout the years respectfully express their gratitude to Captain Nguyen Manh Cuong.
